What is the Difference Between Double and Triple Glazing?

Double glazed sealed units comprise two panes of glass with an insulating gap filled with argon gas whereas triple glazing has three panes of glass and two insulated gaps. The difference between double and triple glazing is now very small because of the improved performance of double glazing.  Whilst triple glazing is beneficial for better insulation and allowing less noise in, the extra weight of triple glazed sealed units puts extra strain on window hinges. Additionally, if you are concerned about noise levels being too high with double glazing, you may choose to have laminated double glazed sealed units which will reduce noise and will also protect indoor furnishings from harmful solar UV.

PVCu

Vertical Sliding Windows in Sussex

PVCu vertical sliding sash windows are a great alternative to traditional timber sash windows, designed to look identical to old wooden sash windows but with all the benefits of modern PVCu in strength, durability and thermal efficiency. Available in a large choice of colours, some of which are woodgrain effect, and some are smooth. You can also choose whether to have Georgian bar or not. To maximise functionality there is also the option for tilt open as well as vertical sliding.

Do My New Windows Need Trickle Vents?

99% of houses are now required to have trickle vents when having new windowsinstalled. Trickle vents are required to allow sufficient air circulation into and out of internal spaces. This also helps to reduce the build up of moisture and condensation within the home which could lead to mould and other damp damages as well as helping to remove ‘stale air’, bad odours and heat.
