Is your conservatory too hot in summer and too cold in winter?

A solid conservatory roof gives better insulation which helps to regulate the conservatory room temperature more efficiently than a glass roof.
Despite the name 'Warm Roof', a solid roof actually keeps conservatories much cooler in the summer than a glass roof. Whilst having the opposite effect in the winter, keeping conservatories warmer than a glass roof.
How?
- A glass roof doesn't provide any shade from the sun whereas a solid warm roof does - fine in the winter but not so great in the summer.
- A warm roof is much better insulated than glass so will keep a consistent room temperature for longer. Hence in the winter, your glass conservatory is the coldest room in the house and is the hottest room in summer. A warm roof conservatory remains similar temperature to other rooms in your house all year round.
If you wanted a glass roof because it makes the conservatory so much brighter... Warm roof conservatories can also have skylights, lanterns and roof windows to let the light in whilst also giving you all the benefits of a solid, insulated roof.
